Job Description

Manage the accounts payable function for a growing accountancy practice. You'll lead a small team, ensure accurate and timely payments, and drive process improvements across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle
  • Lead and develop a team of two AP assistants
  • Ensure timely and accurate supplier payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Implement and maintain AP policies and procedures
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience
  • People management experience preferred
  • Experience with Sage, Xero, or similar accounting software
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Understanding of VAT and tax regulations
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • AAT qualification or equivalent
