Job Description
Design electrical systems for commercial and industrial buildings. You'll lead projects from initial concept through to commissioning, working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical distribution systems for commercial buildings
- Prepare detailed specifications and schedules
- Conduct load calculations, cable sizing, and protection studies
- Coordinate with mechanical and structural engineering teams
- Manage projects and liaise with clients and contractors
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and relevant regulations
- Review and approve contractor designs and shop drawings
- Supervise and mentor junior electrical engineers
- Attend site visits and commissioning activities
Requirements
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in building services
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
- Experience with Amtech, ETAP, or Dialux
- Understanding of fire alarm, lighting, and power systems
- Project management experience
- Chartered Engineer (IET) or working towards
- BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
