Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for our range of industrial products. You'll use SolidWorks extensively and work closely with our manufacturing team to bring designs from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings in SolidWorks
• Perform stress analysis and FEA simulations
• Design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA)
• Collaborate with production teams on prototyping and testing
• Manage design projects from concept through to production release
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control
• Support continuous improvement of existing products
• Liaise with suppliers on component specifications
• Ensure designs meet relevant standards and regulations

Requirements

• 3+ years of mechanical design experience
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (certification preferred)
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, injection moulding)
• Experience with FEA/stress analysis
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
